In search of a spiritual, rythmic, transcendent vacation? Tulum is the spot. You and your amigos dancing on the moonlit beach in your Bare Damsel kinis. Tacos after tequila. Sound healing after brunch. Cenote diving after hikes. Kisses after introductions. White sand after white sand. Dancing on the table after Dinner. Massages after Yoga. Sunset dips after sunrise dives. Beach club after boutique hopping.
Tulum has an energy like no other, beautiful nature and an electic mix of people. This is where our Terry Towelling collection was born. The collection is made up of tiny bikinis and corset tops that go with just about anything (especially a cute crochet skirt from one of the boutiques on beach road). Also made from swimwear material but fast drying so you can wear it to hike and to dip.
For the first half of our trip we stayed in a wellness-inspired boutique hotel called Copal. We've stayed here a couple of times and would recommend if you love a natural environment. The staff are welcoming and attentive and the whole aesthetic of this place is a vibe on its own. A rooftop infinity pool, a pool nestled under the shade of the trees and their very own cenote. If you happen to get room service then I recommend the french toast. It was delectable and I don't use that word often. (Only about my mothers cooking)
Our top picks -
Vagalume Beach Club (home to the hands) - A multisensory experience, the music, the atmosphere, the views, the food. THE OUTFITS. This is top of our list for beach clubs.
Sunsets at Azulik - This is one you don't wanna miss. Azulik is an eco-resort known for its stunning architecture and natural surroundings. The journey up to the nest (where you watch the sunset) is magical. its as if you are inside a huge tree. The bridges to get across to the Sunset Nest sway as you walk offering an exhilarating experience. When your'e at the top, margaritas and music bring it all together.
Explore Beach Road - Every shop we went in. There was something we loved. You couldn't stop us from going in each and every little boutique. Right down to accessories Tulum is the place to shop. A couple of our faves were - Caravana (Of course), La Troupe, Coqui Coqui, Josa Tulum and many more. We also came across a lady that crocheted all her own stuff and I bought the cutest top. Her Instagram is @dodocrazyhorsetulum.
Dinner at Rosa Negra - Wanna dance on the table with your friends to Bella ciao whilst simultaneously shotting Don Julio? This is the spot. The steak here is sooo good but its the atmosphere that sets it apart from the rest. They encourage interaction and engagement so its perfect for meeting new people and partying.
Next we moved into this beautiful apartment in Aldea Zama, known for its serene and tranquil atmosphere. About 10-15 mins to Beach road by car depending on traffic and 5-10 minutes into the town. We found this place on Airbnb. 3 bedrooms with the cutest private terrace and plunge pool. It also had a shared pool which was always quiet.

Looking for healing? Head to Holistika. Not only do they offer the best yoga classes but this place is magical. Take a walk through and you will feel it. They offer ceremonies such as Cacao, Sonic experience and Temazcal. All will help activate your body and mind. We recommend either staying here or at least spending the whole day here, you won’t regret it.
Grab brunch at Botanica Garden Cafe. Sit amongst tropical plants and flowers in a tranquil state whilst you wait for your organic, locally sourced breakfast. The Avo on sunflower seed bread with roasted panela cheese and chimichurri was sooooo good. They also offer sweet options like hot cakes, chia bowls, brownies and much more for different dietary preferences. We left here feeling nourished.
I don’t know how we’ve got this far in and not told you where to get Tacos. But here it is. Pepe’s Tacos. This is the go-to spot for both locals and tourists looking to get their taco fix. Sold from a little truck in La Valeta. Many people have said it’s the best tacos they’ve had. Flavourful, authentic and cheap. What more could you want?
Want a little adventure? Hit up some Cenotes. Tulum is famous for its stunning cenotes which are natural sinkholes filled with crystal-clear freshwater. You don’t want to miss out on visiting them, you can jump in and snorkel. I recommend going early and staying through till the afternoon. The way the sun hits the water makes it so ethereal.
Tulum has a special place in our heart and we would recommend going there at least once in your life. There is so much more to do that we haven’t mentioned here so make sure you do some more research.
